De Beers Reimagines Rue de la Paix

The De Beers Group has opened its most ambitious and expressive boutique yet, transforming 12 Rue de la Paix into a destination where diamond excellence, heritage, and storytelling converge. Set within a historic Hausmannian building that once housed the studio of royal milliner Madame Vitrot in the 1860s, the address has been reimagined as the largest De Beers London boutique worldwide.

Spanning 464 square metres across three floors, the flagship marks a bold new chapter for the House in the traditional heart of high jewellery. “We’ve opened the most beautiful diamond boutique in the world. Well, that’s my opinion at least. We have brought the warm heart of Africa to the cool heart of jewellery in Paris. Congratulations to Sandrine, Emmanuelle, and their teams on a brilliant opening celebration, bringing together models from England, influencers from France, Sightholders from America, diplomats from Botswana, designers from Asia, and lovers of jewellery from around the world,” said Al Cook, Chief Executive Officer for De Beers Group.

Designed in collaboration with renowned Parisian studio Pierre-Yves Rochon, the space is warm, layered, and immersive. Elegance and craftsmanship are woven throughout, with a series of private rooms created for exhibitions, salons, events, and intimate soirées. More than a retail environment, the boutique is conceived as a place to connect, inspire, and create lasting memories.

“Jewellery and Rue de la Paix is an incredible, historic location for us to leverage our diamond excellence and express our unique story,” said Emmanuelle Nodale, Chief Executive Officer of De Beers London. The interiors draw deeply from De Beers’ roots in Southern Africa, subtly referencing Namibia, South Africa, and Botswana, three countries at the heart of the company’s diamond journey, while being infused with London’s verve, creativity, and distinctive personality. The result is a refined yet unexpected dialogue between origin and modernity.

A striking wall of kimberlite, the rare volcanic rock in which diamonds are formed, anchors the space and serves as a powerful reminder of De Beers’ unique access to the source. Bespoke furnishings trace the journey of each diamond from rough to polished, while one-of-a-kind artworks by local and international artists celebrate the House’s heritage, peerless diamond quality, and iconic design language.

“The Rue de la Paix flagship is the first example of a bold new retail concept that celebrates our heritage, blending our roots in Southern Africa with the energy and spirit of London. Clients will be able to travel to Namibia, South Africa, Botswana, and now Paris on a voyage of discovery, illuminated by exceptional diamonds,” concluded Nodale.

With this opening, De Beers is not simply unveiling a boutique. It is redefining how high jewellery is experienced, grounded in origin, elevated by craftsmanship, and brought vividly to life in the heart of Paris.
