Leadership Reset at Old Mutual Botswana

Old Mutual Botswana is entering a new leadership phase following the resignation of Group Chief Executive Officer Priscillah Ndadi, marking a strategic transition for the business as it builds on a period of operational reset and alignment.

Ndadi will step down effective 1 July 2026, with her tenure concluding on 30 September 2026. Her departure comes after a relatively short but impactful leadership period that focused on strengthening execution discipline and repositioning the business for sustainable growth. Appointed in February 2025, Ndadi steered Old Mutual Botswana through a phase defined by business renewal and strategic consolidation, helping to stabilise operations and align the organisation around key priorities.

“It has been a privilege to serve Old Mutual Botswana and work with such a talented, committed team. I am proud of the progress we have made together and remain confident that the business is well positioned for future growth and success,”said Ndadi. In response, the Board has moved swiftly to ensure continuity, appointing Ricardo Sardien as Interim Group Chief Executive Officer with immediate effect.

A seasoned executive, Sardien brings deep institutional knowledge, having previously served as both Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer. The company confirmed that the search for a permanent Group CEO will begin shortly, signalling a structured and deliberate approach to leadership succession. Despite the transition, Old Mutual Botswana has emphasised stability across its operations, reassuring customers, partners and stakeholders that service delivery will remain uninterrupted. The leadership change reflects a broader moment of recalibration for the organisation.
